TL;DR: IPRoyal is a flexible, mid-priced proxy provider best known for residential traffic that never expires and sticky sessions of up to 7 days. Residential costs $7/GB for 1 GB and drops to $1.75/GB on 10 TB custom plans. Independent tests show solid but not top-tier reliability. I’d pick it for bursty, uneven usage. Below I cover products, pricing, test data, KYC, pros, cons and alternatives.
Most proxy providers make you use your data within a month or lose it. IPRoyal doesn’t. Its residential pricing page says plainly that your traffic stays available until you decide to use it.
That one rule makes IPRoyal popular with freelancers and small teams. But how good is the network itself?
In April 2026, Proxyway measured a 96.11% global success rate on IPRoyal’s residential proxies. That’s decent. But it trails leaders like Decodo, which scored above 99% in the same round of tests. Proxyway rated IPRoyal 8.5 out of 10.
This review is part of my best proxy providers guide. If you want to see how IPRoyal’s rates stack up against the rest of the market, read my guide to proxy pricing.
I didn’t run my own tests. I went through IPRoyal’s published pricing, policies and docs, plus independent benchmarks and user reviews. All prices are as of October 2026.

What Is IPRoyal?
IPRoyal is a proxy provider founded in 2020 and based in Ajman, United Arab Emirates. It sells residential, ISP, datacenter and mobile proxies, plus a Web Unblocker. It’s best known for non-expiring residential traffic and long sticky sessions. Per Proxyway, most of its residential IPs come from its own bandwidth-sharing app, Pawns.app, and an SDK.
According to IPRoyal’s About page, the company started as two people with a shared idea. It now reports more than 10,000 business clients.
IPRoyal’s official company info page names Karolis Toleikis as founder and CEO. It also lists a 99.9% uptime SLA across all services.
Support runs 24/7 through live chat, email and Discord. Enterprise clients get dedicated account managers.
What Products Does IPRoyal Offer?
IPRoyal offers five products. Residential proxies are the main one, with 195+ locations, city-level targeting and sessions of up to 7 days. ISP and datacenter proxies are static IPs sold per proxy with unlimited bandwidth. Mobile proxies use real carrier IPs. The Web Unblocker deals with blocks and CAPTCHAs for you, and you pay per request.
Residential proxies
IPRoyal claims more than 64 million residential IPs across 195 countries and regions. The largest listed country pools are the US at about 3.45 million and Germany, France and the UK at about 1.4 million each.
- Rotate IPs on every request or keep one IP for up to 7 days
- Country, state and city targeting
- HTTP(S) and SOCKS5 support
- Full API with examples in cURL, Python, Node.js, PHP, Java, C# and Go
- Integrations with Playwright, Puppeteer, Multilogin, GoLogin and more
Proxyway points out one technical gap. Residential SOCKS5 supports TCP only, with no UDP.
ISP proxies
ISP proxies are static IPs registered to real internet providers. IPRoyal says its ISP network covers more than 31 countries, with no bandwidth or session limits. Use these for long sessions where you need the same IP every day.
Datacenter proxies
IPRoyal’s datacenter proxies are IPv4 addresses in over 50 countries. They come with unlimited threads and support HTTP/HTTPS and SOCKS5. Proxyway found that both datacenter and ISP proxies support UDP over SOCKS5.
Mobile proxies
Mobile proxies use 3G, 4G and 5G carrier IPs. You can rotate automatically or change the IP with one click or an API call. Dedicated mobile IPs stay reserved for you while you use them.
Web Unblocker
The Web Unblocker works as a backconnect proxy. You point your code at a new endpoint, and IPRoyal deals with CAPTCHAs, retries and browser fingerprints.
How Much Does IPRoyal Cost?
IPRoyal residential proxies cost $7/GB for 1 GB on a subscription and $5.25/GB at 10 GB, as of October 2026. Custom plans from 10 TB drop to $1.75/GB. Pay as you go costs about 5% more. ISP proxies start at $1.80 per proxy for 24 hours, and datacenter proxies start at $1.39 per proxy on 90-day terms.
Here are the residential rates from IPRoyal’s pricing page:
| Traffic | Subscription (per GB) | Pay As You Go (per GB) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 GB | $7.00 | $7.35 |
| 2 GB | $5.95 | $6.25 |
| 10 GB | $5.25 | $5.51 |
| 10 TB+ (custom) | $1.75 | $1.84 |
IPRoyal says there’s no monthly minimum and no long-term contract. Residential traffic doesn’t expire on either model.
Static and mobile proxy prices
| Product | Term | Starting Price |
|---|---|---|
| ISP | 24 hours | $1.80 per proxy |
| ISP | 30 / 60 / 90 days | $2.70 / $2.55 / $2.40 per proxy |
| Datacenter | 30 / 60 / 90 days | $1.57 / $1.48 / $1.39 per proxy |
| Mobile (dedicated) | 24 hours / 30 days | $10.11 per day / $130 per month |
| Mobile (per GB) | 2 GB to 100 GB | $6.80/GB down to $5.20/GB |
| Web Unblocker | 1K to 100K requests | $1.00 down to $0.70 per 1K |
These are “from” prices. Your final cost depends on location and quantity. Mobile terms are the hardest to read, so check the current price on IPRoyal’s mobile pricing page before you buy.
How does this compare? IPRoyal’s small residential packs cost more per GB than Decodo’s, which start at $3.75/GB on a 3 GB plan. Proxyway also notes that, without discounts, IPRoyal residential can cost more than premium rivals at volume. So don’t pick IPRoyal to save money. Pick it for the flexibility.
Refunds and trials
IPRoyal has no residential free trial. Instead, you can buy a 1 GB pack to test it. Its official info page sets out these refund rules:
- Residential pay as you go: refundable if the service fails in the first 24 hours due to an IPRoyal-side issue, and you contact support in that window.
- Residential subscriptions: refundable within 72 hours of a renewal, only if you haven’t used the new data.
- ISP, datacenter, mobile and Web Unblocker: refundable within 24 hours if the service doesn’t work as expected.
- One-day plans: not refundable.
The windows are short. Test right after you buy, not days later.

How Does IPRoyal Perform in Independent Tests?
IPRoyal performs reasonably well, but below the market leaders. Proxyway’s April 2026 test found a 96.11% global residential success rate, with a 0.53-second median response but a 1.24-second average, because of some slow IPs. Its ISP proxies reached 94.75% success overall but only 60.73% on Amazon. These numbers come from Proxyway. I’m reporting them, not producing them.
Here are the main residential figures from Proxyway’s IPRoyal review:
| Region | Unique IPs Seen | Success Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Global | 2,330,578 | 96.11% |
| US | 290,741 | 98.48% |
| UK | 88,630 | 97.87% |
| EU | 290,408 | 96.41% |
| Brazil | 205,985 | 97.70% |
| India | 283,263 | 93.57% |
| Australia | 8,940 | 99.24% |
What does this mean for you? For US and UK targets, results are close to the leaders. For global or India-heavy scraping, expect more retries.
Proxyway also found that 86.77% of the global pool was truly residential. That’s lower than Decodo’s 98.97% in the same tests.
The ISP results were weaker. Average download speed was 5.31 MB/s, against about 52.93 MB/s without a proxy. If you need static IPs for heavy ecommerce work, look at the options in my best ISP proxies guide first.
Is IPRoyal Safe and Ethical?
IPRoyal says its residential IPs are responsibly sourced from real user devices. Proxyway reports most come through IPRoyal’s own Pawns.app bandwidth-sharing program. That gives it more control than buying IPs from resellers. But Proxyway raised a concern about one large IP range in its tests, and Trustpilot has flagged the company’s review profile. I’d weigh both before you commit.
Here’s what I found in the sources:
- Own sourcing. Proxyway reports that IPRoyal builds its pool through the Pawns.app bandwidth-sharing app and an SDK.
- A sourcing question. The Proxyway reviewer believes over one million IPs in one test came from Comcast-related ranges, possibly acquired without permission. That’s the reviewer’s view, not a confirmed finding.
- Trustpilot warning. IPRoyal’s Trustpilot profile shows no TrustScore. Trustpilot says the rating is unavailable due to a breach of its guidelines and that it removed a number of fake reviews.
- Data handling. IPRoyal says it stores data in the UAE and EU and keeps log data, such as IP addresses, for six months.
KYC rules
IPRoyal’s own info page says all clients must pass identity verification. Proxyway described it differently. In its review, KYC was optional, but skipping it meant fewer ports, no PayPal, and no access to government or banking domains. Verification runs through a third-party service, iDenfy.
Proxyway also noted that some features need minimum spends of up to $1,000. If you want full access, plan to verify your ID early.
Whatever provider you use, follow each target site’s terms and your local laws. Strong KYC is a good sign, because it keeps abusers off the network you share. That matters more after the July 2026 FBI seizure of NetNut, which KrebsOnSecurity tied to a botnet.
What Are IPRoyal’s Pros and Cons?
IPRoyal’s main strengths are non-expiring residential traffic, 7-day sticky sessions, broad datacenter coverage and responsive support. Its main weaknesses are higher small-pack prices, lower success rates than the leaders, weak ISP test results, short refund windows and open questions about reviews and sourcing.
Pros
- Traffic never expires. Buy once and use it whenever you need it.
- Long sticky sessions. Keep the same residential IP for up to 7 days.
- Wide static coverage. Datacenter proxies in 50+ countries and ISP in 31+.
- Unlimited bandwidth on static IPs. ISP and datacenter plans have no traffic caps.
- Fast support. Proxyway got a live chat reply within a minute.
- Good docs and integrations. Code samples in seven languages and lots of tool guides.
Cons
- Pricey small packs. $7/GB for 1 GB is above many rivals.
- Lower success rates. 96.11% globally, versus 99%+ for the leaders.
- Weak ISP results. Slow speeds and 60.73% success on Amazon in Proxyway’s test.
- No residential trial. Refund windows are 24 to 72 hours.
- No residential UDP. Residential SOCKS5 is TCP only.
- Trust questions. Trustpilot removed fake reviews, and Proxyway raised a sourcing concern.
Who Should Use IPRoyal, and Who Should Skip It?
I’d recommend IPRoyal to freelancers, small agencies and hobby projects with uneven usage, since the traffic never expires. It also fits social media and multi-account work that needs long sticky sessions. Skip it if you need top-tier success rates at global scale, cheap bulk residential traffic, or fast ISP proxies for ecommerce scraping.
IPRoyal is a good fit if you:
- Use residential traffic in bursts rather than every month
- Need one IP to stay the same for days
- Mostly target the US, UK or EU
- Want datacenter IPs in less common countries
Skip IPRoyal if you:
- Scrape heavily protected sites at large global volume
- Need the lowest price per GB on small plans
- Want a free trial or a generous refund window
- Need fast static IPs for Amazon or similar ecommerce targets

How I Reviewed IPRoyal
I didn’t buy a plan or run my own tests for this review. I compared IPRoyal’s published pricing, product pages, refund terms and official company info. Then I checked them against Proxyway’s independent benchmarks and user reviews on Trustpilot.
Here’s what I looked at:
- Pricing clarity. Are rates and terms easy to understand?
- Independent performance. What do third-party benchmarks show?
- Billing fairness. How do expiry, refunds and renewals work?
- Product range. Which proxy types and locations can you get?
- Trust. What do KYC rules, sourcing and review platforms say?
Vendor claims are labeled as IPRoyal’s own. My editorial policy explains how I source and update reviews.
What Are the Best IPRoyal Alternatives?
The best IPRoyal alternatives are Decodo for higher success rates at lower small-plan prices, Webshare for a free plan and cheap datacenter IPs, Oxylabs for enterprise scale, NodeMaven for clean IPs with traffic rollover, and Evomi for very cheap bulk residential traffic.
- Decodo: Residential from $3.75/GB with 99%+ success in Proxyway’s tests. Read my Decodo review.
- Webshare: Free plan with 10 proxies and 1 GB per month. See my Webshare review.
- Oxylabs: One subscription from $30 per month covers all products. Residential runs from $6/GB to $2.50/GB.
- NodeMaven: Clean-IP filtering, rollover traffic and a $3.50 paid trial for 750 MB.
- Evomi: Core Residential at $49 for 100 GB per month, with a free trial.

The Bottom Line
IPRoyal is a solid, flexible proxy provider with one standout feature: residential traffic that never expires. Add 7-day sticky sessions, wide datacenter coverage and fast support, and it’s a smart pick for small teams with uneven usage.
It’s not the best performer. Proxyway’s tests put its success rates below the leaders, and its ISP proxies struggled on Amazon. Small residential packs also cost more than Decodo’s. And keep the Trustpilot flag and Proxyway’s sourcing question in mind.
My verdict: buy a 1 GB pack and try it on your real targets inside the refund window. If the results hold, IPRoyal is good value for bursty work. If you need higher reliability, compare it with Decodo in my Decodo alternatives guide or my full proxy provider rankings.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is IPRoyal legit?
Yes. IPRoyal is a real proxy provider founded in 2020 and based in the UAE, with more than 10,000 business clients by its own count. Proxyway rated it 8.5 out of 10 in 2026. Keep in mind that Trustpilot has removed fake reviews from its profile and doesn’t show a TrustScore, so lean on independent tests and a small trial purchase.
Does IPRoyal residential traffic expire?
No. IPRoyal says its residential traffic stays available until you use it, on both pay-as-you-go and subscription plans. That’s its main edge over providers that reset unused data each month. If you cancel a residential subscription, your unused traffic stays in your account. Static proxies, like ISP and datacenter, are sold for fixed time periods instead.
How much does IPRoyal cost?
As of October 2026, IPRoyal residential proxies cost $7/GB for 1 GB and $5.25/GB for 10 GB on a subscription. Custom plans from 10 TB cost $1.75/GB. ISP proxies start at $1.80 per proxy for 24 hours, and datacenter proxies start at $1.39 per proxy on 90-day terms. Mobile starts at $10.11 per day.
Does IPRoyal offer a free trial?
No. IPRoyal doesn’t offer a free residential trial. Instead, you can buy the smallest 1 GB package to try the service. Refunds are limited: 24 hours for pay-as-you-go residential failures and most static products, and 72 hours after a subscription renewal if you haven’t used the new data. So test as soon as you buy.
Is IPRoyal better than Decodo?
It depends on how you use proxies. IPRoyal is better if you use traffic in bursts, because residential data never expires, and if you need 7-day sticky sessions. Decodo is better for reliability and price on small plans. In Proxyway’s 2026 tests, Decodo scored above 99% success globally, while IPRoyal scored 96.11%. Decodo’s residential plans also start lower per GB.
